Jars from this bloom
Nothing is heated, blended or rushed. A jar takes as long as its flower does.
Hives are carried to the flowers at night, a week before they open, so the bees wake up beside them.
The bees work one bloom for two or three weeks. We open the boxes only to check that the colony is well.
We take a frame only once the bees have sealed it with wax — that is how they tell us the honey is ready.
Frames are uncapped by hand, spun in a hand-cranked extractor, strained once through cloth and jarred the same week.
The honey house is open for tastings at the edge of the estate. Write to us for gifting, honey for a café or restaurant, or to ask when a bloom is coming in.
