The sunny 16 rule: on a bright day, set f/16 and a shutter speed of one over your film speed. Every step darker opens the lens a stop. Negative film forgives a stop either way — if in doubt, give it more light.
Scroll, and watch a print come up in the tray while your film goes through the same five steps.
Lights off. The film comes out of its cassette and onto a steel reel by feel, then into a light-tight tank.
Developer at twenty degrees, timed to the second and turned by hand every minute. This is where the picture appears.
Thirty seconds in the stop bath halts the developer, so nothing goes on growing after we say it is done.
The fixer clears what the light did not touch, and the film is safe to see. The lid comes off.
A long wash, a night hanging in the drying cabinet, then every frame is scanned and the strips are sleeved for you.
Drop film at either counter or post it to the lab. Write to us about a camera you want serviced, a push or pull, or a stock you cannot find.
