Nothing on this line right now.
Four benches, four pairs of hands, about two days from a roll of leather to a box.
Panels are cut from the hide by hand with steel dies, working around the marks so the best leather goes on the toe.
The upper is closed on a post-bed machine: toe cap, quarters, heel counter and lining, about four hundred stitches a shoe.
The stitched upper is pulled over a wooden last and left overnight to take the shape of a foot.
The sole is glued, pressed and stitched round, then each pair is cleaned, laced and boxed by the person who made it.
The workshop is a short walk from Mahim station. Come and try sizes, watch a pair being made, or write to us about a pair for your team.
