Leather cover · three cotton refills
A soft leather folio with an elastic spine and three slim cotton notebooks — one dotted, one lined, one plain.
Nothing in this collection right now.
Every sheet goes through the same five pairs of hands before it reaches a stack.
Off-cuts of cotton from Jaipur’s garment workshops are sorted by colour and cut into small squares.
The rag is soaked and beaten for hours until it loosens into a soft, white slurry.
The papermaker dips the mould and deckle into the vat, lifts, shakes once each way — and a sheet is formed.
Sheets are pressed between felts, then pegged on lines in the open field to dry in the sun.
Dipped in gelatine so ink sits on the surface, then pressed between plates for the writing papers.
The mill is open to visitors on weekdays — come and lift a sheet yourself. Write to us for wedding stationery, bulk sheets or a paper we do not list.
