The making
From log to living room
Every piece passes through the same four benches in our workshop.
- 01
Seasoned
Logs are sawn into boards and stacked with spacers in the yard until the wood is dry enough to stay still.
- 02
Cut
Boards are planed, matched for grain and cut to size, so a tabletop reads as one piece of wood.
- 03
Jointed
Mortise and tenon, dovetail and dowel. We glue and peg the joints rather than relying on screws.
- 04
Finished
Sanded by hand and finished in oil, wax or matt lacquer, then checked on a flat floor so nothing rocks.
