    How a board is made

Decks are pressed in Domlur, surfboards shaped in a shed in Mulki. Both go through the same four steps, by the same few hands.

    1. 01

      Press

Seven sheets of maple, glued and pressed overnight in a concave mould. Surf blanks are cut from foam the same day.

    2. 02

      Shape

Decks are cut to outline and their edges rounded by hand. Surfboards are planed and sanded to the rails, one at a time.

    3. 03

      Print

Each graphic is screen-printed in two colours. For surfboards, the colour goes into the resin itself.

    4. 04

      Finish

Grip tape and hardware for the completes; glass, fins and a last hot coat for the surfboards. Then a test ride.
