Each tea comes from one garden and one pluck. The tin says where it grew, how high, and how long to steep it.

Steep guide

Time it like we do

Every tea has its own water and its own minutes. Choose one, warm the glass and start the timer.

  1. i.

    Warm the glass

Rinse the glass or pot with hot water, so the first steep does not cool before it starts.

  2. ii.

    Measure

About 2.5 g — a heaped teaspoon — for every 200 ml. Silver buds are bulky; use two.

  3. iii.

    Mind the water

Fresh water at the temperature on the tin. For anything below 90 °C, let a boiled kettle rest a few minutes.

  4. iv.

    Steep and pour

Start the timer, then pour every drop off the leaf. Whites and oolongs give a second, longer steep.
