The short version
Every Sitesfare website goes out with search-engine optimisation (SEO) and answer-engine optimisation (AEO) built in. You don't need a plugin and there's nothing to switch on. What lifts a site above the rest is your own content: a clear title, a real description, a summary that says who you are, what you do and where, and links to your other profiles. This guide explains what Sitesfare does for you and what is worth your ten minutes.
SEO means turning up in Google and Bing. AEO means being the site that ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot read, trust and quote when someone asks them a question.
What Sitesfare does every time you publish
These are applied to every template, on every publish:
-
One structured-data graph per page (Schema.org JSON-LD). It always includes
WebSite,WebPage, and the right main entity for your kind of site:- a
Personfor a portfolio - a
LocalBusinessorOrganizationfor a business - an
OnlineStorefor a shop - the society for a housing society
- the
Eventfor a wedding
Your services, projects and FAQs are linked in. If a template's own data was broken (for example a line break in an address), it is repaired rather than thrown away.
- a
-
Titles and descriptions that fit search results. A title that is only a name gets what you do added ("Rhys Calder — Photography portfolio"). Long titles are shortened at a word, never cut back to a bare name. Descriptions are fitted to 160 characters. If yours is missing, one is written from your own summary.
-
Share cards.
og:andtwitter:tags with your main photo, so WhatsApp, LinkedIn, X and AI answers show a proper preview. -
Alt text on every image, plus a robots tag that allows large image previews and full snippets.
-
Hidden sections are taken out of the page. Most AI crawlers don't run JavaScript. Without this, a section you hid (often still holding sample text) would be read as your content.
-
Files for AI assistants:
llms.txtsays who or what the site is, lists the key facts and outlines the page.llms-full.txtholds the whole site as clean text.profile.jsonandprofile.mdhold your structured profile.
-
sitemap.xml(with images) and arobots.txtthat welcomes Google, Bing and the AI crawlers by name (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and others). -
IndexNow on every publish. Bing, Yandex, Seznam and Naver hear about your change within minutes, as do the answer engines built on Bing's index (ChatGPT search and Copilot). Google reads your sitemap instead.
-
One address. Canonical links point at your real address, and at your own domain once it is connected, so search engines don't split you into two sites.
What you should do (ten minutes)
- Write your own title. Aim for 30–60 characters, along the lines of "Name — what you do in City". You'll find it under SEO in the editor.
- Write your own description. Aim for 110–160 characters: one or two plain sentences on what you do, for whom and where. It becomes the line under your link in Google and the one-line answer an AI gives.
- Write a real summary in your About or hero text: two to four sentences, at least 120 characters. Answer engines quote the first paragraph about you.
- Say where you are. Give your city, or the full address if people visit you. Most searches are local ("dentist in Dublin", "photographer in Cornwall").
- Link your other profiles: LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram, Behance and so on. These links tell search and AI engines that the profiles and the site belong to the same person or business. It's the strongest identity signal there is.
- Add a share image. 1200 × 630 pixels works best. Upload it in the SEO section.
- Answer the common questions. Add a short section of questions and answers in plain words. AI assistants answer questions, and a page that already states them is the easiest to cite.
- Fill or hide every section. Sample text in a visible section works against you. Hide what you don't use.
Check your score with an AI editor
If you've connected ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or another editor to Sitesfare (see Connect an AI editor), ask it:
"Run an SEO and AEO audit on my Sitesfare site and fix what you can."
It runs the site_seo_audit tool. That gives a 0–100 score measured on the page exactly as it will be published, each issue with why it matters, and the field to change. The editor can then write a better title and description, fill your summary and links, and publish. See Improve your SEO and AEO with an AI editor for prompts that work well.
Connect Google Search Console
Google is the one search engine that doesn't take IndexNow, so tell it about your site directly:
- In the dashboard's Analytics, open Search keywords and follow its steps. Sitesfare puts Google's verification tag on your site for you.
- Publish, then verify the property in Google Search Console and submit
https://yourname.sitesfare.app/sitemap.xml(or the same path on your own domain). - Within a few days the dashboard shows the searches that find you, with clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position. The SEO + AEO pack is included on every paid tool.
Your own domain
A domain of your own builds a name that people and search engines remember, and links to it stay yours. When you connect one, every canonical link, structured-data id, sitemap entry and AI file moves to it automatically.
FAQ
How long until Google shows my site? Usually a few days to a few weeks for a new site. Submitting the sitemap in Search Console speeds it up. Bing and the engines that use it often pick up a publish within hours, thanks to IndexNow.
Why is my wedding website not on Google? On purpose. Wedding sites carry family names, dates and addresses, so they are marked noindex, and their AI files say only that the site is private. Guests reach the site from the link you share.
Can I keep any site out of search? Yes. Turn it off in your site's Settings → Search engines. Every page then carries noindex, the sitemap lists nothing, and the AI files become a short private note.
Does Sitesfare guarantee a first-page ranking? No one honestly can. Sitesfare makes sure every site is technically correct, fast and readable by search and answer engines, and shows you exactly what's left for you to improve.
