Your Sitesfare store (the Ember template) takes real orders: shoppers add products to a bag, check out with their address and phone, and choose how to pay — UPI, your own payment page, or cash on delivery. Every order is saved with a number, emailed to you, and listed in Dashboard → your store → Orders; the shopper gets a receipt.
Try your settings in the checkout simulator above — it uses exactly the rules your store uses — then tick off the setup steps.
In short: name and price your products → Checkout & payments (currency, a way to get paid, shipping, coupons) → publish → place a test order → work your orders in Dashboard → Orders.
How a sale works
- The shopper fills the bag. Add to Bag works on every product with a name and a price. The bag remembers its items on that phone or computer.
- Checkout. They give their name, email, phone and delivery address, can type a coupon, and pick one of the payment methods you switched on.
- The order is saved first. Your store's server prices the order from your product prices — never from the shopper's browser — applies the coupon and shipping, gives it the next order number (#1001, #1002…) and stores it. Only then is the shopper told it went through. If anything fails, they see the error and keep their bag.
- Emails. You get New order #1001 with the items, total, payment method and address (reply to reach the shopper). The shopper gets Your order #1001 with what they ordered and how to pay.
- Payment happens in the shopper's UPI app, on your payment page, or at the door — never on your website. See Get paid on your store.
- You work the order in Dashboard → Orders: New → Paid → Shipped → Delivered (or Cancelled). See Manage your store's orders.
Step 1 — Products
In the editor, open Bestsellers, Collection (Products 1–4), Collection 2 (Products 5–8) and Spotlight Product. Each product has a name, a price, a badge, and up to three photos.
- Write prices the way you say them:
US$16.99,1299,US$30.99and1,00,000all work. Totals are always worked out from these numbers. - A product with no name, or no price, is not sold — that is how you take something off sale.
- Stock notes ("Only 3 left") are optional and appear only when you type one. Write one only when it is true: India's dark-patterns guidelines (2023) forbid false urgency.
Ember sells up to 12 products. Need more, or sizes and colours? See What Ember does not do yet below.
Step 2 — Checkout & payments
Everything that controls money is in the editor's Checkout & payments section:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Form email | Where order emails go (else your contact email, else your account email) |
| Store currency | ₹, $, €, £, AED, SAR, QAR, KWD, BHD, OMR, S$, RM, A$, C$ or ₱. Automatic reads the symbol in your prices |
| UPI ID | Shoppers pay by UPI (rupee stores only) |
| Online payment page link | A Razorpay, Cashfree, Stripe or PayPal payment page (https only) |
| Cash on delivery | On or off |
| Shipping fee per order | Empty or 0 means free shipping |
| Free shipping on orders over | Waives the fee once the bag (after any coupon) reaches this amount; the bag shows a progress bar |
| Coupon codes | One per line: WELCOME10 10% (percentage, at most 90%) or FLAT200 200 (amount off) |
| Tax note | A line under the totals, e.g. All prices include all taxes |
Coupons are checked by your store's server, so codes are never visible in your page and a wrong code is refused with a clear message.
Step 3 — Publish and test
Publish, open your store on your phone and buy something with your own details. Check that the order email arrives (look in Spam the first time), that your receipt arrives, and that the order is in Dashboard → Orders. Then mark it Cancelled.
What Ember does not do yet
Being straight about the gaps, so you can plan around them:
- Up to 12 products, no sizes/colours (variants) and no stock counts that go down by themselves.
- No automatic payment confirmation: you mark an order Paid once you see the money.
- No shopper accounts, abandoned-bag emails, GST invoices or courier integration (Shiprocket, Delhivery).
- Status changes are not emailed to the shopper — message them from the order (email, phone or WhatsApp).
For a large catalogue with variants and automatic payments today, a dedicated commerce platform may suit you better; for a curated shop that wants a beautiful site and 0% Sitesfare fees, Ember fits.
